The 20th Crane symposium, entitled "20 years of evolution in crane building" was held on March 21, 2012 at the Technical University of Dresden.

Together with Wolfgang de Vries (VW stamping plant Emden) Wolfgang Wichner reported about the successful optimization of the tool setup times at the stamping plant Emden, using a crane automation system with integrated sway control. The system provides monitoring of all motion vectors of the suspended load and thus fast rotation of the tool.
